Wine and The City
The pursuit of wine is like a good wine itself: deep and complex. On one level that's thoroughly fascinating. But at street level, when you're shopping for a bottle in NYC, it can be a trying experience too. The NYC Wine Report was created to take the frustration out of finding the right wine while leaving the excitement, charm and allure of wine undisturbed.
We review a few of our favorite wines each month that have at least two things in common: 1)We tasted it and recommend it, 2)You'll be able to find it in at least one NYC-area wine shop, and we'll tell you where.
By and large our focus is on great wines that are great values. The wines we talk about are the wines you'll want to open at dinner, bring to a party or share with a friend. In other words, bottles you'll most likely consume within a week or two of purchase. But now and then the NYC Wine Report also features pricier gems and age-worthy collectibles to put away and drink in later years.
The Internet is changing many facets of our lives and the world of wine is no exception. On this site, you'll find links to area retailers, NYC wine events and wine Web sites from all corners of the globe that will expand your knowledge and broaden your horizons.
If we're doing our job, you'll find the NYC Wine Report is both a great pleasure and a very useful tool - an urbane environment that wastes precious little time getting you from Point A to Point B. After all, we think that's what NYC is all about.
